According to Foresight News, Cointelegraph reports that Indian Railways has partnered with Chaincode Consulting to offer NFT-based train tickets during the MahaKumbh Mela festival. This significant religious event in India occurs every 144 years. The tickets will be minted on the Polygon blockchain and managed by the NFTtrace platform.
MahaKumbh Mela is a major religious gathering in India, with the Kumbh Mela, held every 12 years, recognized by UNESCO as an Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity. Previously, Indian Railways introduced a limited-time NFT train ticket initiative during the Holi festival in 2024.
