Speed ​​Remittance (MoneyGram) and Stellar Development Foundation have launched a new service called MoneyGram Access. With this new service, customers can convert fiat currency into cryptocurrency based on USDC stablecoin at their nearest Speed ​​Remittance branch and send it to others at low cost. Speed ​​Remittance stated that the service is currently available in several key remittance markets, including Canada, Kenya, the Philippines and the United States, and aims to expand the Speed ​​Remittance channel globally by the end of this month. During the first 12 months, Speed ​​Remittance plans to offer this service with no fees to increase initial usage.

One of the benefits of using USDC on the Stellar network for remittance is that settlement speed is very fast, which means that the recipient does not have to wait for several days, as with traditional remittance, to receive funds. The lower cost also means that people can keep more money instead of spending it on expensive fees.
